Course information

This course is designed to equip participants with the skills and techniques necessary for effective minute taking.  Attendees will go through the process from creating an agenda to sending out completed minutes.

This course is ideal for anyone who is tasked with taking minutes in meetings. Through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical exercises, participants will leave with the confidence to take on the minute-taker's role in any meeting setting.

Aims and objectives

By the end of the course, participants will:

  • Build confidence in the skill of taking minutes.
  • Understand the role and responsibilities of a minute taker and other meeting participants.
  • Explore the best practices for preparation, attendance and follow up of meetings.
  • Be able to identify the key components of taking notes with templates
  • Be able to master the art of writing minutes that are concise, clear, and easy to understand
  • Explore the differences between online and in person minute taking.
