From Grief to Growth: Loss, Change, and What Comes After

Audience: PG research, PG taught, UG

Date: Monday 17 November 2025

Times: 17.00 to 18.00

Key details: This small group session is designed to aid understanding of loss and change whether that relates to bereavement or to other significant life losses and transitions.

Course information

We will look at some of the main theories around transitions; myth-bust common misconceptions, look at the different ways we are impacted, and consider the term “good grief”. We will also suggest ways to help you manage and navigate your grief and create space for you to consider what you might need next. There will be opportunity for you to consider your experiences and share a little of your thoughts, but there is no expectation or scope for you to share your story in this session.

If your loss is a particularly recent or sore one, please consider speaking with Student Services first to see if this session would be a good fit for you at this time.

Aims and objectives

Greater understanding of how grief impacts us and how we can navigate life whilst making space for it.
