Bloomberg terminal is a prominent financial information platform and analytical tool for financial professionals worldwide. This module is designed to empower students with the expertise needed to navigate the dynamic landscape of finance using Bloomberg as a powerful analytical tool. It is structured to ensure a balance between key finance concepts and practical application. It provides an in-depth exploration of financial data analysis within the Bloomberg environment, preparing students for the complexities of financial decision-making in professional settings.

Intended learning outcomes

  • Complete the Bloomberg Finance Fundamentals, Market Concepts, and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) courses online
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the various tools and functions offered by Bloomberg for financial data retrieval, analysis, and interpretation
  • Evaluate investment opportunities of different asset classes based on Bloomberg-generated metrics and analytics.
  • Construct investment portfolios based on analysis of Bloomberg data, giving considerations to asset allocation, diversification, risk-adjusted returns and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors.
  • Produce an equity investment recommendation report using Bloomberg data and analytical tools, critique the financial modelling approach used as well as their assumptions and limitations.
