Cafes
The University has a number of cafes which are open to staff, students and the general public. Whether you’re looking for a coffee to take away or a filling lunch in a convenient location, the University cafes have a range of options available.
Franki's Cafe
Situated just inside the Main Library, the Franki's Cafe is a bright and pleasant space to take a break or meet up with friends. A variety of food is on offer — from healthy breakfast options to soup, baked potatoes, panini sandwiches, and salads at lunchtimes. Snacks and a range of hot and cold drinks are available throughout the day.
Franki's Cafe is open from 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
Fairlie's Cafe
For a break between studying or exploring ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳, why not visit Fairlie's Cafe in the Medical and Biological Sciences Building (MSB)? Visitors can enjoy breakfast rolls, soup, baked potatoes, sandwiches, home baking, confectionery, and hot and cold drinks — all available to eat in or take away.
Fairlie's Cafe is open from 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
UPDATES Cafe
A range of lunch options and hot and cold drinks can be found at UPDATES Cafe in the School of Physics and Astronomy. Visitors can choose to sit in for a quick lunch or grab a drink to enjoy elsewhere.
UPDATES Cafe is open from 10am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday.
Rector’s Cafe
The Students’ Association’s flagship cafe is a vibrant space located at the front of the Union building. The Rector’s Cafe offers all visitors the chance to relax with a drink and watch the world pass by. With a selection of sandwiches, cakes and other food available, this is the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely lunch or grab a beverage to take away. .
Old Union Coffee Shop
The Students’ Association also runs the Old Union Coffee Shop, found close to the St Salvator's Chapel on North Street. Offering a range of hot food options at both breakfast and lunchtime, you can either grab a bite to take away or settle in for a cosy afternoon. Find out more about the .
